The wines of Sâmburești have enjoyed great fame abroad, being appreciated as some of the best red wines in the world, a reputation first earned in 1891 in Paris.
Professor J. Roger, the expert who selected Romanian wines for the 1937 Paris exhibition, noted the ruby color and juniper flavor of the Cabernet Sauvignon wines from the 1925 harvest. Pierre Andrieux in “Les vins de France et d’ailleurs,” Paris, 1939, stated that the red Cabernet wine from Sâmburești is like “bull’s blood.”
At the International Competition in the former GDR in 1961, four samples were awarded four gold medals. In Tbilisi, Ljubljana, and Leipzig, they won 28 gold and 16 silver medals. In Budapest, Moscow, Paris, and Bordeaux, Sâmburești red wines received 16 gold and 12 silver medals. At the 7th International Wine Competition in URGUP, Turkey, from May 21-29, 1973, out of five samples sent, three won gold and two silver. The excellence of Sâmburești continues to this day, garnering over 250 medals from renowned international competitions.

Crama Domeniile Sâmburești, a prominent name in the Romanian wine industry, has been awarded the title of “National Producer of the Year 2024” at the prestigious AWC Vienna festival. This award highlights the winery’s and its team’s commitment to excellence and innovation in wine production.
At the same competition, Domeniile Sâmburești won two gold medals for its exceptional wines: CHATEAU VALVIS MERLOT, 2021 and DOMENIILE SÂMBUREȘTI ROSÉ, 2023. Additionally, the winery was honored with six silver medals for the following wines:
